I've downloaded the flac plug-in for Winamp but things don't seem to work properly. Some files from Smithstorrents plays without problem (Vauxhall outtakes) but others just won't play (Smiths at the Beeb). I've tried converting them to mp3 using the AllToMP3 Converter but conversion isn't possible either. Any clues to what's wrong?

I haven't has any problems with the FLAC WinAmp plugin. There's more than one. Do you have the right one? You could also try converting to WAV using the official decompressor.

Which Winamp plugin do you recommend?

The flac files that don't work are the ones where I've downloaded only certain files, not the complete torrent, by unchecking checkboxes that appear after opening a torrent in uTorrent. Since it is possible to choose parts of a torrent, this should be alright?

You should be able just to download the tracks you want. I use Nullsoft FLAC Decoder v1.1.2c. I think it comes standard with the full version of WinAmp.

I've installed the latest version of Winamp with the Nullsoft flac decoder but it didn't help. Same error message "FLAC__FILE_DECODER_SEEKABLE_STREAM_DECODER_ERROR". I searched for it on Google and it seems I'm not alone with this issue. No solution though. Seems like it's some sort of hardware problem. I give up.

It sounds to me like the files are damaged or something, or not fully downloaded. Have you tried an MD5 check? or maybe there wasn't one available?

It's a file (often) included in torrents to verify that nothing has been lost or changed in the download. http://www.brandonstaggs.com/filecheckmd5.html

I downloaded FileCheckMD5 and it says "OK". Files still don't work. :-( EDIT: It's working now. Don't know what was wrong...
