What a great recording for a show so old, you had some great equipment Josef!! Fantastic to hear the debut of This Charming Man, which was done in the same way as on the Peel session. Johnny must have just written it days before the show, a great piece of history there.

Hi Steve
How did my seed compare with the tape you bought in Camden all those years ago? was it taken from my recording? Really keen to know. There's meant to be another recording of this gig available but apparently it has part of the first song missing.
Josef
I'll let you know once I've downloaded it.
We had loads of promo posters for all the singles. If you went down to rough trade they were virtually giving them away. Seems strange to see them now advertised on the net for £30-40. My favourite poster is one I have from the Paris El Dorado in 84 ... a big poster with "Apportez vos fleurs" on. Some guy in France sent it to us as part of a trade

thanks Vinny. You caught them at a great time. Glad they made an impact. Glad you caught up with my seed. This was actually the second time i saw and taped the band. First time was at the Brixton Ace supoorting the Sisters of Mercy. A short set of 8 or 9 songs. Steve's seeded copy of that gig is far better than mine and worth downloading.

P.S.

no, it actually only took two weeks to finish. Wish you started pulling earlier, I gotta drop my connection so I can give my speed to my 360. I'll seed again tomorrow. Yes it really will come.

No worries, the owner of the master is thinking of doing a new transfer. This current one used equipment from 2001, he has since upgraded.

Love the version of TCM, the Peel Session one was always my favourite rather than the "Manchester" (single/album) one that most prefer.
Really interesting to compare to this version only a fortnight later:
