A few people say Marr did not play Knebworh with Oasis because the venue was to big and The smiths only liked small venues.
Is this true
cheers

Never heard that one before.
Can't imagine Marr playing along to Champagne Supernova in the manner that Squire did, not his style of music.
Anyway The Smiths played Glastonbury (not very succesfully) and a few festival gigs abroad.
Doubt Marr would have bottled it, i think the intimacy of The Smiths gigs was more of a Morrissey ideal anyway, although the rest of the band were into it also it seems.

That's the first I've heard about it?
I thought they'd just asked John Squire, and not Johnny?
He did join them for a Champagne Supernova later in 2001 at Barrowlands arena, Scotland for a televised gig.
