Morrissey has apologised to fans for his latest album, branding the release a "disaster".
The former Smiths frontman intended to release Swords, a collection of his B-sides, as a cheap Christmas gift to fans, but record company bosses had other ideas.
The star blames the release's low sales on its high price and poor distribution to stores.
He says, "I am sorry that Swords was such a meek disaster. It was proposed and accepted as a budget-priced CD, yet emerged everywhere as the most expensive CD in the racks.
"It was poorly distributed and didn't stand a chance."

The whole announcement can be read on true-to-you.net. I'm incredibly happy he listed the Warsaw gig among his favourites...and hope he'll be back.

I'll buy Swords as soon as it reaches the bargain bin or is heavily discounted on-line.
I do like the b-sides on CD2 of "...quarry" and would like Ganglord too but i doubt i'd pay much more than a fiver.

I certainly wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't for this "Live in Warsaw" bonus disc.

I think it's a great comp, and I like having the vinyl-only B-sides in a nice clean format.
I'm a bit skeptical that he planned on it being a budget priced set, and had no say when it came out as a full priced set. Seems to me they didn't sneak in the deluxe 2-cd version out without his prior consent.

And I've bought about 4 copies [vinyl, US, UK, UK deluxe] and a few promos to boot!

That was why I also shelled out $24 for the double CD, but I'm not complaining too loudly. I also got the Rough Trade 12" of "What Difference Does it Make?" so it was a good day!
