Hey,
Last weekend I was cleaning out a room in my house and looked through my Smiths/Morrissey collection. A week of listening to some of the best of that stuff lead me to this site. About eight years ago when I was trading heavily in live CDs I and some friends bought direct from DJ (D. Jones) a whole bunch of CDs he made of his analog tapes. Some he claimed were straight from the master. I believe Steve C. recorded many of these same shows, but these are different versions (maybe one or two of the shows Steve didn't record). Is anyone interested in my seeding these and if so which ones?

Brixton Academy 12/12/86 is the most interesting imho, would be good if you'd seed them all eventually though.
Thanks.

I welcome everyone new here but anyone bearing such gifts deserves all caps. And bold.
WELCOME BRIAN
We have a couple of David Jones recordings here. One is from the master and one is a first gen. Perhaps there are more, but working out the source of an unknown audience recording is really tough.
I would love to see all these shows here, as I know will others. Not only will it add to the collection here, but it will also help me clear up some unknown audience recordings. Do you have any record of which were from the master tapes and which are of unknown lineage? FYI, a pretty complete list is here.
I know it can be a pain seeding that many CDs. If you're UK then I'd be happy to receive them by post and do it on your behalf.

Sweet FA, OK. I've put up 12-12-86 for starters. It's not as good as the Big Al recording, but it does have TQID.
DavidA, I'll try to spend some time at work looking over that list and adding my thoughts, etc. My old trading list can be found here

I'm glad to know all of these recordings can be enjoyed by others so easily.

That's a great list. Surprised I hadn't found it before now. I'll try and see what else you have that we're missing here.

Brian, I took a look at the list. You have some gems there that we don't yet have. I've made some notes and highlighted the things that I'm most interested in. Find it here.
Judging by your dates you're in the US, right?

Fixed now.
You have a good number of interviews there.
I've been trying to put together a definitive unreleased Peel/Jensen compilation. I think yours might be an upgrade on what we have here. 'At the Beeb' has good quality versions, but they're spoken over at the end.

I just realised something... you're Brian G. with who I had many exchanges about bootlegs in the past! You were very helpful with my putting together the bootlegs sections of "Passions Just Like Mine".
And I think I've met you at a Belle & Sebastian concert here about 10 years ago, you were following them around and bootlegging the whole tour, right?
cheers

Hey, hey, no full names. ;)
Yup, that's me Stephane. I got bit a burned out on recording shows and met my wife (not too big into standing quietly near the guy taping a show) around the same time.
Still enjoying Belle & Sebastian and The Smiths, et al a lot, however.
Your tour section is great. Looking forward to continuing the conversation.

Ha ha, me either - only had Viva Hate on CD up to about this time last year when i decided to get some of the ones i'd avoided as i was off to see him live for the first time.
Pleasantly surprised with Southpaw Grammar though, exceptional album that one (the expanded reissue anyway).

Corrected!

I'm actually about to redo the bootlegs sections of the webpage. Not the bootleg addendum to the tour reviews, but the general bootlegs 'by date' sections. They should be more user-friendly and show more info without having to click on the concert date. They will be more useful to people who collect concerts the way we do.
