This gets talked about from time to time but I don't think it ever happens. Here's a thread from 2006.
Has anyone made a good complication of unreleased Peel sessions? What with unreleased demos and Extra Track, it seemed like some new, cleaner versions might be being unearthed.

The problem with Rarities, B-Sides and the Beeb is they have Bob Harris talking over the end of some of the tracks. This wasn't the case when they were originally broadcast, but when they were originally broadcast we only had cassettes to record them. It's frustrating that they haven't been broadcast in their original format recently.
The Sandie Shaw tracks are available in perfect quality on Cool About You. There's a link to that in another thread.

Weird.... I am comparing them as I write this and here, on my speakers, apart from weak volume Jeane and I Don't Owe You Anything sounds better from Reel Around The Fountain Bootleg...
Don't they?

Sorry. Don't have them to hand at the moment.
You might well be right. I must admit that I assumed an official source (Cool About You) would be better than a bootleg (Reel Around the Fountain).

Actually, there are a couple of threads on Solo about a new BBC Sessions compilation.

Stephane, if you're listening, is this a new source?

I honestly don't know as I don't own it. All the tracks on that one (The Peel Sessions 1983-1986) are on "Hatful Of Hollow" and the Peel Sessions EP anyway. Another recent bootleg LP, this one titled "The Old Guard - BBC Tapes 1983-1986, has stuff that hasn't been officially released, but I don't know about the quality. I think I may have a digital version of it however, but just realised I archived it without playing it. I could dig for it, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has this. I picked it up from someone on Moz-solo who got the bootleg.
As for your comment about "Cool About You": I remember being in contact with the makers way back when this was being put together. If I remember well, they couldn't get the official BBC tapes (but probably still had their permission), so they used someone's home recording which they cleaned up as much as they could.

In one message it says the following tracks are on that boot.
IS IT REALLY SO STRANGE
RUSHOLME RUFFINS
THIS CAHRMING MAN
REEL AROUND THE FOUNTAIN
BACK TO THE OLD HOUSE
HOW SOON IS NOW
LONDON
WHAT DIFFERNECE DOES IT MAKE
HALD A PERSON
STILL ILL
WILLIAM
HADSOME DEVIL
SWEET AND TENDER
THIS NIGHT HAS OPENED
I'm rushing to work but some of those, e.g. London and Half a Person, aren't on any official release are they?
Nice footnote on Cool About You. Thanks.

Ooops, you're right. I actually wrote from memory and got the two I mentioned mixed up. Here's the info:
The Peel Sessions 1983-1986:
http://www.passionsjustlikemine.com/boots/peelsessions.htm
The Old Guard - BBC Tapes 1983-1986
http://www.passionsjustlikemine.com/boots/oldguard.htm
Now I know why I just archived the Old Guard recording without listening to it... that's the one that has nothing unreleased on it.
One way or another, I know nothing of the source for either of these.

Bizarre that "Nowhere Fast" doesn't appear on the first one.

Okay. So...
There's a boot called The Peel Sessions 1983-1986 which reportedly is great quality. It would be good to hear more about it.

Ok, nice... I just edited my post with the listing so it reflects what we know as we speak. I edited the John Peel, 9 August 1984 session to point that some songs can be found on Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me CD.

Morrissey Solo forums would be your best bet we don't encourage commercial stuff uploading on here.
Or you could bid for this:
